Government College of Engineering, Srirangam, located in Trichy, Tamil Nadu, was established in the year 2013 by the Government of Tamil Nadu. It is the tenth state-owned engineering institution in the state and operates under the affiliation of Anna University, Chennai. The institution is situated on a sprawling 20-acre campus, offering a serene and academically conducive environment for learning and innovation.The college began its academic journey with the first batch of students admitted in the 2013–2014 academic year, offering undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Science and Engineering. To address the evolving demands of industry and interdisciplinary innovation, the college introduced a new program in B.E. Mechatronics Engineering in the academic year 2025. This department integrates mechanical, electronics, and computer engineering to produce industry-ready graduates for modern automation and robotics applications.All academic departments are equipped with highly qualified and experienced faculty members, many of whom are actively engaged in research, consultancy, and development projects. The departments are supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, smart classrooms, seminar halls, and advanced computing facilities with high-speed Internet connectivity. GCE Srirangam is recognized as a Research Centre by Anna University for all its departments, facilitating research and doctoral programs.
